Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated by language, stories and childhood development. Writing for kids allows me to channel all these passions at once into making stories that I hope young readers will enjoy as much as I enjoyed stories growing up—and still do!
Before diving into children’s writing, I completed my medical degree at McGill University. I then changed directions and did my Masters in English and Creative Writing at Concordia. From there I began a career teaching English and Creative Writing to college students as well as to kids and teens in local libraries and schools.
I am always grateful for the opportunity to meet young readers and budding writers, whether through a reading or creative writing workshop. Their imaginations and creativity are a constant inspiration which send me back to my writing desk excited to share more stories.
I am equally passionate about editing and story coaching, with professional writers and anyone else who seeks to put their thoughts into words—a typically messy, non-linear process that can benefit from dialogue with an experienced partner.
If you might be interested in having me visit your school, library or festival, or if you’d like to discuss a writing project of your own, feel free to get in touch!
